"settings" -> "forwarding and POP" -> "Enable POP"

Use your favorite mail client to grab all of the mail.

Not the most elegant as you lose your labels and so on, but probably
all you need if you just want to back it up. Also, make sure it did
grab "all" of your mail and not just your inbox -- I don't recall
offhand which it does.
