Hi List, I've recently installed VMWare Server 1.0.3 build 44356 on a machine running Ubuntu 6.10 and the VMWare Server Console (same version as the server) on a machine running Ubuntu Feisty. My goal is to install the OS (and all other software) from a a remote machine running the VMW Server Console. I've created an empty VM and, using the VMWSC, configured it's CDROM drive to use /dev/scd0 on the client machine. Any time I attempt to start the VM, I get a few messages: This device cannot be set to auto detect while the virtual machine is powered on. (which is normal, I guess) When trying to connect the device: Error toggling removable device: Invalid argument. I'm not sure what's wrong. Google has turned up a few things, but nothing that's worked so far. Below is the vmx file for the VM in question, the a couple of lines from the VMWSC's log. Any help is appreciated.
