the LOVE sculpture is even less unique to philly than the liberty bell, i'm afraid. per wikipedia,

"

Indiana's best known image is the word love in upper-case letters, arranged in a square with a tilted letter O. This image, first created for a Christmas card for the Museum of Modern Art in 1964, was included on an eight-cent United States Postal Service postage stamp in 1973, the first of their regular series of "love stamps."

Sculpture versions of the image have been installed at these American locations:

Outside the United States sculptural versions of Indiana's image have been installed at these locations:

An Indiana sculpture showing the Hebrew word for love (ahava) is displayed at The Israel Museum in Jerusalem, Israel."

(article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Indiana )

not many other places can boast the liberty bell, nor Independence Hall, nor Benjamin Franklin (although Benjamin wasn't ONLY in philly, he is certainly quite often associated with it)

Uhh.. the love sculpture is very well know. It's one of Philly's most
recognizable items, and it's one of the few that are uniquely Philly.
Yes the liberty bell and ben are in/were from Philly, but they're not
unique to Philly, they represent things bigger than Philly. I'm all
for the PLUG/LOVE sculpture image.
