Hi all,

I would like to weigh in on this conversation. Having recently (1 year ago) moved to Philly and considering myself fairly knowledgeable on landmarks and historical figures, I must admit that until this email thread I had no idea that the Love thingy was in Philly. Now, granted, I don't get out much and I live all the way up in MontCo, but still...

I do, however, know that Ben Franklin wasn't born in Philly, but he spent most of his life after age 12 here and is closely tied in with much of the city's history. EVERYONE knows that. Also, the liberty bell is a pretty ubiquitous symbol associated with Philly. Another one is cheese steaks (or steak sandwiches or whatever you want to call them(, but I doubt that that would make much of a logo for PLUG). So, if you want people in Philly to recognize the PLUG emblem as a significant

So, I vote for Liberty Bells, Ben Tuxlins and Cheese Steaks in that order. Good idea on the LOVE thing, but I just don't think it will get the recognition some Philadelphians might expect.

Uhh.. the love sculpture is very well know. It's one of Philly's most
recognizable items, and it's one of the few that are uniquely Philly.
Yes the liberty bell and ben are in/were from Philly, but they're not
unique to Philly, they represent things bigger than Philly. I'm all
for the PLUG/LOVE sculpture image.
