I did quite a while ago via the pull the HDD out after POST method.
Added a few additions to MythTV in support of an Xbox front-end a few
years back (such as letting you know if a back-end is recording via the
color of the Xbox LED).  Sadly though I hear the MythTV front-end has
grown a bit memory intensive for use on an Xbox since then.
