He has a trackball mouse that I pop the ball out of and wipe down with a baby wipe. As for the keyboard, once a month or so the whole thing goes into the dishwasher (by itself, top rack). He hates keyboard washing time as he is without a keyboard for a few days while it drys out. > This took me a few minutes to find since it's a tad buried, so for > reference: http://code.google.com/p/pytoddler/. As it stands there are three independent programs in the group with different goals. pyCrayon - Draw with the mouse without having to hold down the mouse button, clicking changes colors. Cursor is a crayon of the appropriate color and when the color changes, the name of the new color is spoken. pyMouse - Cursor is a mouse graphic, a piece of cheese randomly appears on the screen and you must feed the on-screen mouse by moving the on-desk mouse. When he collides with the cheese, the cheese disapears and one of several "Yummmmmy" sounds plays. pyKeys - Press a key on the keyboard it shows up in a large white font in the middle of a black screen. The letter/number is spoken. The problem is, my son loves them all and would play one for 2 minutes and then beg to have it switched, rinse repeat. I wrote a simple menu thingy. Instead of three separate python scripts it's now just pyToddler.py. An icon for each game arranged in a triangle pattern with the pointer starting in the middle. He can press the escape key to return to the menu and switch to another on his own. I can send you a tarball, it's 662KB with the OGGs and PNGs, but you've got to promise not to laugh at my rudimentary python skills. - -- Michael Greb Linode.com, LLC -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.7 (Darwin) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFHMb7w0Qbp4bPZvesRAnWBAJ9RxRmRElIi3qqTST90CCLDzZD4CgCg4prN S6JV2duPGHwXqdWlOHEUDTc= =HNOf -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
