I use Writer, Calc and Impress extensively, and have been doing so since circa 2000. I have used it on RH, SuSE, Debian, Kubuntu and DSL (that last teaching computer merit badge at boy scout science camp). Over the years, its formatting compatibility with M$Office is comparable to that of one M$Office version with another. Calc, Writer and Impress are all very stable. Yes, I have occasionally (like once a year) encountered a PowerPoint presentation that would crash OOo. In most cases (where the document is not confidential), I have reported it, and there have been timely bug fixes. I use OOo on Linux in an S&:P 500 company (thousands of employees) that is officially M$Office on Windows, and almost all the time no one notices the difference. For documentations / presentations that are important (think executives and clients), I do have a copy of M$Office on Windows that I boot to check things out before sending them on. -- Bhaskar ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
