Just to be clear I'm not looking to reinvent the wheel. I'm looking for something similar to reporting and functionality found in Base(Free, Multi-Platform), Sonicwall Viewpoint($295, Windows) or Manage Engine Firewall Analyzer($395, Multi-Platform).

There is always Splunk but it sounds like a lot of work to get what I want.

Anyone know of any OSS to parse & report syslog firewall messages? Will Base do syslog messages. I have a Sonicwall firewall and want to get some reporting without breaking the bank. What about Nagios?
