It's interesting the way they do it. It almost looks very FreeBSD'ish and their eth config.

Not saying you did... saying you need them :) That is where resolvconf
looks for the DNS servers. It is set that way so that you can have
different DNS servers for different mappings of the ethernet interface
(e.g. eth0-home, eth0-office, etc.).
