Re: [PLUG] The One True OS, migrating to

With old age comes wisdom, picking and choosing which battles to fight and which ones to bite the bullet on I feel are essential system administration skills. Time is an extremely valuable resource. When you hit your late thirties early forties time starts to warp. Days get eaten up a lot faster then they did when I was younger.

Though I like OS and firmly believe in the concept, when dealing with end users, sales men, CEO's and other B and higher level management and staff it's a Windows world whether we like it or not. People want to use Outlook, people want to use Office. People who try and reeducate users to OS have my deepest respect. But I'm a realist and it will be a Windows world for end users for some time to come. I have hopes for MAC making in roads with Office 2008  and can't wait for Drexel to put it on its site for me to download and try out. Though it lacks Exchange support hopefully that will be added it. MAC still has the best chance to change the paradigm that is Windows.

I can see the logic in paying for some software that doesn't have
equivalent free alternatives. I have a hard time seeing paying $12000
for what is effectively integration work. But, each to their own.
