Zimbra - but cluster it. To get Exchange like integration to Outlook you'll need to purchase the commercial version to get the ZCS connector for outlook, though it's not perfect. Having supported Exchange, I'll take Zimbra+Outlook+ZCS over Outlook+Exchange+Windows 2003Server. If they can tolerate the web client or an IMAP client - Zimbra is free OSS otherwise.

You need to migrate 6000 users from a propriety nix mail server that is now defunct. You need to include all of the options I mentioned and they want to move all of the users to LDAP. What would you use to do this? What OSS would you use to support all of the requirements? How long will it take you to deploy it? How would you integrate it all? I'll open this up to everyone because I honestly would like to have my opinion changed. You can e-mail me off the list if this offends anyone. I can see the logic in paying for some software that doesn't have equivalent free alternatives. I have a hard time seeing paying $12000 for what is effectively integration work. But, each to their own. -- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Stephen Gran | You have a deep interest in all that is | | steve@lobefin.net | artistic. | | http://www.lobefin.net/~steve | | --------------------------------------------------------------------------
