NCR services the POS for B&N; the software and the receipt printers.  The 
machines run some recent version of windows with an IE based search and 
inventory application (pretty but technologically lame and ineffective -- 
unbelievable how many sales are lost due to the lameness of the search 
engine) with the full screen DOS POS app activated alt-tab.
