        The next PLUG West meeting will be held on Monday, May 19
        at Unisys in Malvern, starting at 7:00 pm. K. S. Bhaskar will
        present an introduction to the PIP transaction processing
        developing platform.

          http://www.fis-pip.com/

        PIP (http://fis-pip.com & http://sourceforge.net/projects/pip)
        is a proven code base for developing and deploying transaction
        processing database applications.  It consists of a SQL engine;
        JDBC driver; PSL, an object-oriented scripting language; and
        two IDEs, one browser based and one based on Eclipse.

        When deployed on GT.M, PIP has robust support for ACID (Atomic,
        Consistent, Isolated, Durable) transactions; performance and
        scalability for the largest enterprises; and unique functionality
        for mission-critical applications that must be available 24x365.

        Bhaskar tells us that you have to attend the presentation to
        find out the expansion of the acronym 'PIP'!

        Interested in Linux, BSD, and Free Software? Whether you're
        already an enthusiast or want to learn more, come and join
