KDE 4.0, as shipped with OpenSuse 11, is best avoided.  Wait until you can get 
your hands on 4.1, which is already vastly better.  Much of the missing 
functionality has been restored (though not all, yet), and the new 
applications/technologies can be at very least described as "promising" rather 
than merely "immature".
