As a myth box has been on my "todo" list for a while, I'd be interested 
in this thread as well.

As for the OP, what do you want your setup to be?  Separate frontend and 
backend?  All in one combo front/backend?  There's a ton of info out 
there about what you'll need to accomplish various goals with Myth.  
There's also a database of people's systems along with comments about 
how well those components performed for myth at:

get started.
