[PLUG] Acer Aspire 5315 series-best distro?

Dear PLUGgers,

In early November, I expect to take delivery on an Acer Aspire 5315-2826. In view of the WiFi matters, and assuming Acer got its act together in the last year, is Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid) or Fedora 9 the least painful distribution to put on said laptop?

I intend to run the Gnome office suite, totem and/or mplayer, and occasionally Apache 2.x to test out code before uploading it. Googling brings up a dispute as to whether the WiFi is Broadcom or Atheros-I'm not afraid of ndiswrapper.
