Stephen, sorry, my last post wasn't clear... <sigh> Yes, I had set X11Forwarding on in sshd_config. No, I had not ensured xauth was loaded in the remote. I loaded xauth, and it now works for my Debian remote computers. Thanks! Now, if I could just get my Gentoo remotes systems to do the same thing (and yes, xauth is loaded on them).
