Your installer is either misinformed or lying. At worst you'll have
to schedule another installation (with a different installer).
For now, point to the ethernet port on the ONT and say "There it is,
ethernet. Now please run the CAT-5e like I asked." Have your
installer call in to their dispatch if they resist after that.
