Isn't that what Linux is all about? Just for the record I don't know everything and have never made that claim. Computer knowledge is a journey, not a destination; you just have to be willing to take it. I imagine encrypting the system partitions would extremely impair this type of attack; correct? Also good old fashioned physical access control to servers would as well without the draw backs to encrypting the root filesystem.
