Art: I don't know if my 2 Compaq adapter(s) match what you need(1). In my experience with Compaq laptops the problem is most likely either in the laptop's power receptacle or a broken wire in the cord. When you insert the connector into the laptop does it seem "loose" at all? Can you slowly push it left|right|up|down and make the charging light go 'on'? Also, try slowly moving the cord around - particularly near the ends. I also have a multi-meter you can borrow for testing if you need. Eric (1) Compaq series: PPP014L - no "model number" shown.
