I adore Munin. It's great for helping me keep track of how loaded my
servers are.
I also like rsync for its general utility, and duplicity, which is
like rsync but with the ability to do incremental/differential
backups.
I know that Munin and Duplicity can be installed via apt-get on Ubuntu
8.04. Not sure about other distros.
