I have a new server setup running Ubuntu 8.04 LTS and it's got a small problem. ssh works just fine but sftp authenticates and then dies. Here is some of the relevant portion of the /var/log/auth.log: Aug 2 12:09:16 master1 sshd[1944]: subsystem request for sftp Aug 2 12:09:16 master1 sshd[1944]: debug1: subsystem: exec() /usr/lib/openssh/sftp-server Aug 2 12:09:16 master1 sshd[1944]: debug1: Received SIGCHLD. Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done openssh-client is already the newest version. openssh-server is already the newest version. 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 23 not upgraded. Any ideas what's going wrong here? (and more importantly, how I fix it?)
