The only way to really enforce logging of user activities is to use some sort of restricted shell that enforces shell history and prevents the user from modifying their profile/environment. Your other option is to enable system auditing, which will allow you to be a lot more granular with respect to what you log, but may be overkill (or underkill) depending on what you're looking for. ~Paul On Aug 13, 2009, at 2:34 PM, Ron Kaye Jr wrote: > have to kick my admin skills up a notch. > > how do you setup logging of user logins? > what user activities can be logged (and how do you do it) once they > are logged in? > > Ron Kaye Jr > 914-7294734 > ___________________________________________________________________________ > Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org > Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce > General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
