kmymoney2 is a great KDE program. It is actively developed and supported,
and supports OFX account downloads. The user list is frequented by a couple
of the developers and you couldn't afford the support they provide for free.
It does everything I want and a simple script allows creates every 5 minute
backups so that the current version is on a USB stick with backups on your
various HDs that you run it from. You can gpg encrypt/decrypt the data from
within the software. There is an Ubuntu ppa that packages fixes as they are
applied to CVS-HEAD.

Problems may be:

1. I have never tried OFX, but I see few complaints. Most of the developers
use a different format/protocol because it is more widely supported by European
banks.

2. It does not print checks. I remember requesting this feature. The
developers said it had never been a priority as they almost never used paper
checks. In the 4-5 years that I have been using it, I have not gone through
the first tablet of 25 checks you get with a new account, so this has not been
a problem with me either.
