I'm looking for a a book on the above topic. I would like something like the
'DNS & BIND' and 'DNS & BIND Cookbook' as I find them very good. But when it
comes to MySQL there seems to be a lot of books out there and I'm not sure
which of them come close to the 2 stated here.
So I'm looking for recommendation from the list as to what books would come
close to these. Thank for your help.
I love O'Reilly books and rarely look beyond them. (I may be biased. :)
I loved _MySQL Cookbook_, which is huge (1024 pages), but getting old
(2002). Ah, there is a newer second edition (2006):

_Managing and Using MySQL_ was OK, but I personally got more out of the
cookbook. (I may be biased. :)
http://oreilly.com/catalog/9780596002114/
There is also _MySQL in a Nutshell, 2nd Edition_ and _Learning MySQL,
First Edition_ if you like those series, but I don't have either of them.
See:
http://search.oreilly.com/?facet=ContentType&i=1&q=mysql&t1=Books&u1=q&u2=t1&act=fc_contenttype_Books
Bottom line, you said you liked the DNS cookbook, so grab the MySQL
cookbook to start with...
Later,
JP

"Microsoft Tax" = the additional hardware & yearly fees for the add-on
software required to protect Windows from its own poorly designed and
implemented self, while the overhead incidentally flattens Moore's Law.
