Not that I'm aware of -- as far as I know, that's the only way to enforce that a file created by a user is set with the correct group.

Thank you, that works.

I see it's only for the present directory so I'll navigate the directory tree
and set those too.

Are there any unintended (security) consequences?  I would not think so but then
those "sticky" bits have always been somewhat of a mystery to me.
