Unfortunately, the drive makes no noise at all.  I tried the rotational snap
motion you speak of without a hint of success.  Maybe I should freeze it
although in this weather the drive would be totally soaked before I could get it
from the freezer in the basement to my office on the 2nd floor.  Perhaps a
sealed plastic bag would solve that :-)
