Google offers products that are free in both senses (speech & beer). Also, a lot of these products are changing the world (for the better). Further, if someone is seeking privacy, these days, the Internet is the last place they should look. It's not just Googles services that have privacy issues.
Until Canonical or somebody else steps up and starts innovating in those areas (and I truly hope they do) then I'm sticking with Google in that respect.
I guess I'm ruffling a few feathers with all my crazy talk about a successful company that actually embraces Linux and free software. I'll shut up now, sorry guys.
