You need to have a data plan that supports tethering. If you're only using it a small amount you may be able to get away without a special data plan, but if you get caught you're probably going to be in more trouble than it's worth. Most modern BlackBerrys allow you to tether via Bluetooth to your laptop, and the MacBook Pro is definitely capable of this. I don't know what BlackBerry you have, so this is the most information I can provide.
