Re: [PLUG] Ubuntu linux + a new mobile phone, cont'd

I have a Droid and it's never unmounted the SD card automatically. Originally, the option would come up in the notification area, but in Froyo it pops up full screen asking if you want to unmount (and thus mount to the computer). It's never unmounted automatically.

Perhaps a dumb question, but do you have an SD card or other mass storage on
the phone?  Ofttimes, with internal memory on the phone, and proprietary file
systems, you just aren't going to be able to mount the phone, no matter which
tool you use.

along these lines, is there any way to unmount the SD card?  Perhaps then the computer will `see' it.  This is how the Droid handles it (automatically, fortunately).
