You're missing these modules. Check /etc/modules.conf or /etc/modprobe.conf from the system that is working and compare it to a system that is not. Maybe manually modprobe for mptsas on the box that is not working and see if it detects the disk.

You probably still also have to configure the array via the LSI Logic, since the system that is working will most likely see a 'virtual disk array' rather than a real physical disk.
