This month, PLUG West welcomes Rich Freeman, who will be giving a talk
  on the Linux boot process.

Most people take for granted that when they flip the switch they will be
greeted by the operating system of their choosing, but few take the time
to understand how this happens. This talk will give a high-level
overview of the PC boot process, particularly for Linux-based systems.
Particular attention will be given to the historical evolution of the
boot process, and how its modular design lends itself to great
flexibility. Both newbies and seasoned veterans should find something to
  interest them.

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 12, from 7-9pm (7-8
General Q&A, 8-9 Presentation) at CoreDial's new location:

  CoreDial (http://www.coredial.com/)

    1787 Sentry Parkway West
    Suite 100 (Building 16)
    Blue Bell, PA 19422

Directions and other information are on our website:

    http://www.phillylinux.org/locations/coredial.html

We request that you RSVP at rsvp@phillylinux.org if you intend on coming
so we have some idea of how many to expect, but it is not required.
