+1 for ElasticSearch, though I have only dabbled in it thus far.


There is a similar solution, geared mostly towards logs, using 
ElasticSearch (and Lucene) called LogStash.  Very amusing play on words 
on the logo.

If I ever get time to really dig in to these, I was thinking about doing
