Re: [PLUG] k/ubuntu 11.10 break iPhone/iPod Touch connectivity? |
I have found that a lot of gnome stuff won't run without nautilus running. The PITA of this is that it seems to change your xfce session into a gnome session.
BTW, in xfce (xfce on ubuntu rather than xubuntu, per se) I can't get banshee to run without nautilus running too. Bah. Plugin dependency problem then?

Hmm. I guess we should check what version of libimobiledevice you have installed too...

gtkpod has been near useless for some time, IMHO. banshee has been working for me. The only problem I've had is needing to unregister and reregister (imobiledevice-tools, I think) the device after an upgrade. Have you looked at any of the output from the various command-line tools?
MM2011/10/28 Art Alexion <art.alexion@gmail.com>___________________________________________________________________________I know the last two iterations of ubuntu could mount an iPod Touch in rhythmbox out of the box. Amarok with some tweaking. Trying to get it to work with my son's laptop, running Kubuntu 11.10 and just can't get ti to work. Installed rhythmbox and gtkpod, still nothing. Followed the documentation here, https://help.ubuntu.com/community/PortableDevices/iPhone Still no good.Nothing I could find specific to 11.10, so wondering if there is some regression.--
