I go to download some cool utilities and the corporate firewall helpfully stops me because it detected a trojan. So I go into the firewall and disable checking for that specific trojan and download again. POOF - Kaspersky eats the file. God bless linux, an OS that doesn't HELP you so much.
How would they justify the ridiculous cost of their hash-based pattern matching engines if they weren't blocking random files once in a while ?
Antivirus solutions are a joke. Use statistical engines to do the filtering based on categories if you really need a filter, otherwise, just let people crash their computers once every 2 months, push a master to restore and when they lose their data twice, they'll learn to be more careful.
