Our firewall seems to stop quite a bit of my utility downloading.To be perfectly fair, both the firewall and AV objected to a suite that included a password scanner. (nirsoft is just plain cool)

You mean the pop-ups on our users' computers aren't from antivirus? :)
filtering based on categories if you really need a filter, otherwise, just let people crash their computers once every 2 months, push a master to restore and when they lose their data twice, they'll learn to be more careful.
Let me see if I can phrase this carefully....While I approve, it would go over like the proverbial colonic output in a house of worship.
Besides, they only keep me around because they like to laugh when I say `linux'.
