This illustrates how Unity exacerbates an inevitable problem when
Gnome itself underwent big structural changes. Just as with KDE4, bugs
and some interface changes were to be expected with the new gnome. Not
a good time to force out an experimental WM too.

The upstream changes to gnome sound good, though. I understand that
they replaced some back end technologies that were tying developers'
hands.
