Re: [PLUG] I have had time to consider and may now comfortably hate Unity. |

I *like* the Gnome 2 menus; that's one reason I moved to Ubuntu way back when, that menu layout just makes more sense to me than the Windows one. I like being able to surf the menus for that app I use twice a year and only remember where it's located, not the name. This illustrates how Unity exacerbates an inevitable problem when Gnome itself underwent big structural changes. Just as with KDE4, bugs and some interface changes were to be expected with the new gnome. Not a good time to force out an experimental WM too. The upstream changes to gnome sound good, though. I understand that they replaced some back end technologies that were tying developers' hands. ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
