Yeah, I had tried that one but didn't like it.

gsimplecal = did nothing I could detect
gworldclock = OK-ish, keeping for now
twclock = Didn't like the interface

I'm usually a CLI guy but for some things a GUI can be easier, and I think this is one. Else I'd just write a simple shell wrapper around GNU 'date'. :-) Hummmm...
