[PLUG] Semi OT: Mini9 battery

Yes, I still use my Dell Mini 9 (running Ubuntu 12.04 and Unity--see, semi on-topic :), and I haven't drank the tablet cool-aid. But the battery was shot, and from web searching it sounded like replacements were either expensive or didn't work.

I got http://www.amazon.com/Inspiron-Mini-Laptop-Battery-Replacement/dp/B003KWGHBQ/ for < $25 and it Just Worked for me (I DO have BIOS Version A04). Actually, it fits better than the OEM battery that rattled until I put some tape (packing, not duct) on it.

FYI if anyone cares,
JP

"Microsoft Tax" = the additional hardware & yearly fees for the add-on
software required to protect Windows from its own poorly designed and
implemented self, while the overhead incidentally flattens Moore's Law.
