Not sure what the blog author intended by "genuine Debian package", but it looks like there's simply a debian package on SourceForge.

Oh, and if anyone saw "apt-cache search suicide" in my command history, I hope they wouldn't get the wrong idea. :)

Surprisingly, there was exactly 1 result, at least on the Linux Mint install I checked and it's a chess program. Usually, I prefer lower barriers to entry to getting packages into a stock repository. In this case, I have mixed feelings about that.
