Re: [PLUG] no frills computer advise

What I do anymore for laptops (and once every 3 weeks they seem to do this for desktops) I go on to www.woot.com.  just figure out your budget and buy a system from there. I know yesterday they had an HP was some alright specs for $329. Since you will be running Linux, there is an easy way to save $50 or more by contacting the computer manufacturer and saying you decline the Microsoft end users license agreement. The manufacturer should cut out a check.

hi,

i am looking for a no frills desktop computer. I will be running Linux on it. I really like PowerSpec because of their warrant and location which is Microcenter near to Villanova.

Are there any other brands similar to that?  Has anyone has expererience with Costo's CyberPower?

I've had bad experience with building a PC from parts because so I want to avoid that and ofcourse I want to avoid a Mac (which my girlfriend insists I have)
