[PLUG] Mythbuntu 12.04 to 14.04 upgrade?

I need to update my Mythbuntu 12.04 per the SchedulesDirect changes, but
I am *not* using the PPA, so I still have MythTV 0.25 and I'm worried
about jumping 2 versions. I can and do backup the DB, but my server is
too large for a full system backup. I also wonder about too many
changes at once.

So I could:

1) Leave the OS alone for now and upgrade MythTV from 0.25 right to 0.27
via PPA.

2) Leave the OS alone for now and upgrade MythTV from 0.25 to 0.26 then
0.27 via PPA.

3) Upgrade the OS from 12.04 to 14.04.

4) 1 or 2 then 3.

5) Cheat for now using one of the hacks in
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Schedules_Direct_URL_Change

Thoughts, recommendations?

Thanks,
JP

"Microsoft Tax" = the additional hardware & yearly fees for the add-on
software required to protect Windows from its own poorly designed and
implemented self, while the overhead incidentally flattens Moore's Law.
