well, i have a suggestion- stay vuln to VENOM.

because that's more or less (unless you happen to use Xen with pv, with
a specific configuration) your only other option. Literally, your only
two options 99.9999% likely are:

- -patch and reboot
- -stay vuln

It's another GHOST in that you don't really have much a choice if you're
already vuln (and, again like GHOST, the scope for being vuln is pretty
wide).
