DJI. Best in the market for entry level.

So this was actually something I wanted to gift-to-self early this year but I'm actually going the Millennium Falcon quad when the price gouging stops.  Just stress relief toy for me  :)

Before that though I was looking at Syma models...

These are well below your price range so I'm guess the Syma stuff is considered pretty basic.

Another one I saw was the Cheerson / Phantom Pathfinder.  That's a more "serious" model.

Subject: [PLUG] Waaay Off-Topic:  Good Drone for Christmas?

I've got my heart set on a drone for Christmas.

Primarily, I want to get a real-time birds-eye view from the air.  I don't
need fancy station-keeping or programmable flight paths (although that is also
very cool).  I just want to vicariously fly over my neighborhood with a real-
time video feed (and recording, of course).

My budget will be $400 - $600.

Anybody got a good suggestion?  There are a bazillion of them out there, and
I'm kinda overwhelmed with selecting one.

TIA!
