Re: [PLUG] Waaay Off-Topic: Good Drone for Christmas? |
Wow, that DJI Phantom 3 is really nice... https://www.dji.com/product/phantom-3#page1 On amazon the 4k model is $1199 and the 1080p60 model is $964. The phantom 3 standard model is $667. I see why they are the standard. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Keith C. Perry, MS E.E. Hi, I have the Syma X5C and I'm quite happy with it, but it doesn't have live video (and the camera quality is mediocre). For me it was a great price point for something I wasn't sure was going to become a hobby -- I decided that if I really enjoyed it and wanted more features, I'd get a DJI or something similar, and if it wasn't for me then at worst I had a sub-$100 plaything for when the nieces and nephews come over. I fly it every now and then but think I'd be disappointed with myself had I spent $1500 on a DJI plus accessories and then have it sit on the shelf most days. I do long for those features, though, so I might upgrade at some point. As Will said, the DJI does seem to be the standard right now for that price point. ~Isaac On 11/19/15 7:18 PM, Keith C.
