It really depends on the tasks you are doing at the time...

I dual-boot my main system with different version build when I'm doing music production.

For my laptops- they are at least dual-booted if not more since I generally keep a Windows environment available to use when onsite clients- that's just in case.  Windows VM's on my netbook are "ok" performance-wise but usually less cumbersome to boot directly into it.

Hi, In today's world of systems with 8+ core CPU's and 8+ GB of RAM, I
wonder if there's any real advantage to running a dual-boot machine as
opposed to just running a VM.?
