[PLUG] I Got My CHIP!

Woo Hoo! I got my CHIP (https://nextthing.co/pages/chip) in the mail today.

I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, but I envision some fun this
weekend. Not bad for $9 (+ P&H)

The thing looks very nice. It's about half the size of arduino or Raspberry
Pi, but has the dual headers like those 2 items. Its got 4 GBytes of RAM,
built-in WiFi and bluetooth, and a normal USB and a mini USB. There's also a
small connector so you can power it with a battery. Another nice thing is
that the header breakout pins are labeled, so you don't have to rely on the
docs to know what pin does what.

Video seems like the computer's weakest link. There is composite video on
board, but HDMI requires a $15 adapter board. For some reason, mine came with
a breakout cable to hook stereo with RCA connectors and a composite video on a
RCA connector ($5 on their on-line store). Also, the back side of mine is
covered in a very nice low profile transparent plastic cover that sells for $2
on the store web site.

I'll report later on how well it works.
