For those using mainstream distros.

Also, it would be interesting to see what happens to a keyed distro if
one recompiles the kernel with different stuff in it.

It's a relative non-issue for those following the path of least
resistance. But if we Linux people regularly followed the path of least
resistance, we'd be using Windows.

Although freedom to repair isn't one of the FSF's four freedoms, it's
vital to a lot of us.
