Re: [PLUG] Philadelphia AWS User's Group

A few people came. I sent Andy an email the next day saying, I was still up for it. I never got a reply, so I'm not sure if he's still volunteering the location. I'm open to anything. My wife just had her leg amputated around Christmas, that said, I don't have anything prepared. She is stable now. I can always try to put something together if this keeps moving.

What was the result of the AWS User's group?  Was it a success?  Will there be a second one?  I am sorry I missed it, looking forward to additional meetings.

Thanks,

Mike

Andy,

   Is the time and location still a go?  I am interested in attending and trying to plan.

   Thanks,

Mike

Hi all –

Ron Guilmet and I are trying to spin up a Philadelphia AWS Users Group – we’re having a first meeting tomorrow. We’ll have a website/calendar pending with future meet-up dates.

* Time and Date:

November 29th 2016 7-9PM

* Location:

Advanced Technology Services (same location as PLUG West):  1200 Atwater Dr #170, Malvern, PA 19355

* Topic:

S3 Deep Dive (Amazon’s Object Storage) by Ron Guilmet!

AWS is Linux-ey why not just have topics at PLUG? An AWS users group would be a mash of a LUG and a Dev Ops meet-up. We could often cover topics that have nothing to do with Linux what-so-ever (storage, queueing technologies etc).

I debated sending this out to PLUG because it’s semi-off-topic but was met with some encouragement to do so anyway. We’re really just trying to foster a community of learning and opportunity and cloud computing seems to be something people are interested in.

P.S. ATS will provide some light refreshments and food.
