I used Lightworks for a bit before discovering Blender's built-in video
editor. I only originally discovered them through Phoronix's reporting
of them releasing a then-upcoming Linux version, so I pounced on the
first opportunity to grab it.

If your relative is familiar with how iMovie/Final Cut Pro feels like,
this is similar.
